New York Best Eats

New York is one of my favorite places to visit each year! There’s always new restaurants popping up and new places to explore.

For my most recent trip, I will be listing my favorite restaurants!

ATOBOY ($$- $$$)

(FLATIRON DISTRICT)

Reservations: RECOMMEND

I went here in August and I must say this may have been the best restaurant I dined at during this trip. They have a set menu for $75 but keep in mind, their menu changes constantly so what I had may not be what they are serving still. During my experience, I had the fluke wrapped in honeydew, waygu tartar with heirloom tomatoes and basil, uni with egg (melt in your mouth), duck, and lamb. The star was their famous dessert which was their lychee yogurt with burrata and walnuts! IT’S A MUST!

PRINCE STREET PIZZA ($)(MULTIPLE LOCATIONS)

If I had to pick the one pizza spot to try in NYC, Prince Pizza would be the one! It’s the softest, fluffiest dough I ever had in my life topped with melted cheese and pepperoni. GOT TO GET THIS!

JOE’S PIZZA ($) (MULTIPLE LOCATIONS)

Joe’s Pizza would be the 2nd choice, it’s a super thin crust pizza but they load it with so much cheese! The plain cheese pizza from here is amazingly delicious especially after the bars/clubs.

NAMI NORI ($$)

(WEST VILLAGE)

Reservations: Recommend

“BANG FOR YOUR BUCK” is what this spot is! This place is casual, lively, and of course crowded! They specialize in open hand rolls and has vegan options to classic and expensive fish. Each hand roll can range from $6 to $20, so it can add up quick! I tried a couple and honestly it all taste amazing! Cannot go wrong with any of their hand rolls, also you have to get a cocktail to go with it! I suggest trying their strawberry sting or matcharita

XI’AN FAMOUS NOODLES ($)

(MULTIPLE LOCATIONS)

One of the iconic places in NYC! This is a must try at least once in your life! They hand make their noodles in store, it is thick and has a chewy texture. SO SO GOOD! The noodles will be a game changer in your life, but make sure to eat it FRESH!

They are known for their spicy cumin lamb hand ripped noodles, it is a bit “gamey” so it might not be for everyone. However, they have other meat options like beef and pork if you’re not a huge fan of lamb.

Highly recommend this spot!

KOPTIAM ($)

(CHINATOWN)

Have you ever had true Malaysian food? You can’t find much authentic Malaysian street food in most cities. I live in San Francisco and cannot name a great Malaysian restaurant so when I tried Koptiam, it was like I was in Malaysia!

I ordered their national dish called Nasi Lemak ($8) which consist of coconut rice, ikan bilis (fried anchovies & peanuts), cucumber, hard boiled egg, side of house sambal sauce. It’s literally such a simple dish, but it is so comforting and flavorful to eat!! You need to get this with their Teh Tarik ($5) which is Malaysian black tea, condensed milk, evaporated milk.

I could keep going on about how good their dishes are, but they have too many to list. I’m sure anything you get would be delicious. Well.. maybe not their fried squid legs.. there was too much batter and not enough squid!

KONG SIHK TONG ($)

(CHINATOWN)

Hong Kong cafe food is the best especially when you’re on a budget!

This ham & egg sandwich was only $3.25. You can also get noodle soups for about $6 and it comes with a hot coffee or milk tea in the mornings. IT IS SO WORTH IT!

I love coming here for breakfast, lunch, and a late night snack!
