Austin (TX) Must Eats!

~Keep Austin Weird~

You have to travel to Austin, Texas at least once in your lifetime! There’s so much to eat and see! I would say 3 days in Austin is a good length of vacation stay. You can spend more days in Houston and Dallas!

It was my first time traveling to Austin and everyone there is super nice, the streets and bathrooms are clean (why can’t SF be more like that) LOL. The food is cheap, but the weather is intense (gets way too hot compared to SF weather)!

The number one thing that everyone does is take a photo in front of their famous Greetings from Austin Mural! You can find the link posted below (:

NOW ON TO THE FOOD!

(MULTIPLE LOCATIONS)

THIS IS THE ONE SPOT IN AUSTIN THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE TO TRY! NO DEBATE!!

THE BEST TACOS YOU’LL EVER HAVE!!

The wait for these tacos are no joke, so do not just order one to try, you have to get like 3 for yourself! They make every taco fresh and the wait is typically 20mins to get your food. My favorite taco was their shrimp macha taco (comes with FIRE chili oil or salsa, shrimp, avocado, and rice). Also loved their Grilled Steak and Reyna taco! Get double their sauces too cause it’s just that good! Still dreaming about these tacos.

I wasn’t a big fan of their breakfast taco.

TERRY’S BLACK BBQ ($$)

(SOUTH AUSTIN)

Another must eat in Austin! Get here early or there WILL be a line!! It’s cafeteria style, line up to get your sides first then your meats. Only one cashier, so please be patient!

I only tried their mac n cheese, green beans, and coleslaw for my sides and all of them were delicious. I’m sure you can’t go wrong here. We also got their sausages, brisket, and pork ribs. The brisket was the most tender and juicy brisket I’ve had! It wasn’t dry at all and the pork ribs was so tender, it just fell off the bones!

If you want the beef ribs, come with more than 2 people. You can only purchase it by pounds.
