Korean Steamed Egg
Comforting, easy, affordable, and quick meal!
Korean steamed eggs are typically served with kbbq or really in any Korean restaurants. But did you know it’s literally so easy to make with very little ingredients?
The trick really is steaming the egg in a small earthenware stone pot which you can find here !
You can make steamed eggs super simple or you can add more veggies and meat if you want to make it an entree dish instead of an appetizer dish.
PREP TIME: 5 mins
COOK TIME: 5 - 10 mins
SERVES: 1 person
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1/2 cup water, anchovy broth, chicken broth, or veggie broth
fish sauce or salt and sesame oil to season your eggs
green onions to garnish
And that’s all you really need to make a simple fluffy egg dish!
Directions:
You want to brush oil around your stone pot!! Don’t skip this step!
Beat your eggs with your choice of liquid until smooth. You can run it through a sieve, but you really don’t need to! It was still pretty fluffy when I didn’t use a sieve!
Add your seasonings and mix
OPTIONAL: add your chopped up veggies, tofu, cooked protein AND MIX again
Pour the liquid to the stone pot and turn heat to medium (with no lid on), when you see the eggs forming, mix a little bit more
Turn heat to low, cover with lid, wait about 3-5 mins and it should be done!
I added silken tofu to mine, used just a dash of water since tofu releases out water!
And this is how fluffy it turned out! I also added thai chili peppers! Was so delish!!
